TEACH South Africa staff member elected to Amesa

TEACH South Africa staff member Lerato Mathenjwa, was elected to the Association for Mathematics Education of South Africa (Amesa) at the Amesa Gauteng Conference held at the Marang Centre for Maths and Science Education at Wits University on Saturday, May 15, 2010.

The organisation, founded in 1993, is a professional association for mathematics educators and according to its website, represents “the interests of the discipline” and looks to promote mathematics education “to enhance the quality of the teaching and learning of mathematics in South Africa”.

The conference was attended by mathematicians from across Gauteng.
