South African Council of Educators (SACE)

A workshop will be held on August 29-30 with South African Council for Educators (SACE) trainers. It is compulsory for the Integrated Internal Quality Management System Systems (IQMS) that the TEACH Ambassadors start their Professional Development Portfolios (PDPs). This workshop will also include a few teachers from the staff Development Teams (SDTs) of each school. TEACH will provide the PDP files for all the TEACH Ambassadors as part of our whole-school development programme. The TEACH Ambassadors will assist the SDTs in conducting PDP workshops at their schools after the SACE workshop.

Developing a professional portfolio is essential for any individual who is serious about personal development. It is also a useful tool when marketing oneself through career advancement opportunities. For South African teachers, developing a Professional Development Portfolio (PDP) is mandatory for the Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) performance evaluation. TEACH South Africa in collaboration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE) is holding a PDP workshop for TEACH Ambassadors as well as teachers from the seven schools who serve on their Staff Development Teams (SDT) on 29-30 August. In addition, TEACH South Africa has purchased PDPs for all educators of the seven schools who have partnered with TEACH SA. This latter initiative is part of our whole school development programme for our beneficiary schools.
